SUNDAY SCHOOL (Birth–K) 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.
Come visit us at the Early Childhood Ministry courtyard and we would love to help you find your child’s classroom. Our goal is to encourage your child to discover and live their faith in Jesus as we explore the great stories of the Bible from cover to cover. We strive to create an engaging atmosphere in a purposeful, safe and age-appropriate way. We also desire to partner with parents as you pass on your faith to your kids.

AWANA (Age 3–Grade 5) 6:30–8 p.m.
Awana is a ministry committed to the belief that the greatest impact for Christ starts with kids who know, love and serve Him. Every Wednesday night First Free Rockford hosts Awana’s Cubbies (3-4 Year olds), Sparks (K – 2nd Grade) and Truth in Training (3rd – 5th Grade) groups, where kids play team games, memorize Bible verses, complete handbook activities and explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of Scripture.

What is Child Dedication?
Parent/child dedication is a way for parents to declare their own commitment to raise their child in a home where God is the center. We host dedications during our Sunday morning services several times a year. (See below to register and review frequently asked questions.)
How often do child dedications take place?
The Child Dedications occur 3 times a year in the Sanctuary at First Free Rockford during the 8:30am and 10:30am services.
Is there a class I need to take?
Yes, there is a required parent class. The Parent Child Dedication class is the week before the Dedication service. Completing the online registration form will register you for both the ceremony and the parent class.
How long is the ceremony?
The Child Dedication service is at the beginning of our worship service and lasts about 5-10 minutes.
What should we wear to the ceremony?
There is no dress code. We have seen everything from dresses to jeans for adults. As for the child being dedicated – we’ve seen everything from elaborate dresses to clip-on ties.
Who should I invite to the ceremony?
Please invite family, friends, and neighbors. This is to be a celebration of the commitment you are making and we want your loved ones to be able to share in the experience.
