Carpenter’s Place Donation Drive

August 15 - August 22

On two consecutive Sundays, Aug. 15 and 22, First Free Rockford will collect needed items for Carpenter’s Place. Simply bring items to church those two Sunday mornings and you’ll find collection points near the entrances.

Carpenter’s Place, 1149 Railroad Ave., is one of several Christian-based agencies serving homeless individuals and families in the Rockford area. It provides a daytime center where people can work on various aspects of rebuilding their lives.

Here are some items needed:

  • Liquid cleaner for washing floors
  • Bathroom cleaner
  • Toilet bowl cleaner
  • Cleanser (Comet)
  • Glass cleaner
  • Dish soap
  • Sponge mops, brooms, dust pans
  • Garbage bags; both white kitchen size and large 33 gal size
  • Men’s boxer shorts, sizes M through XL
  • Backpacks
  • Bottled water
