Growing up, my church did not emphasize Lent. To me, Lent meant we had macaroni and cheese and fish sticks in the school cafeteria because the Catholic kids couldn’t eat meat, or that they (the Catholic kids) gave up eating candy from Ash Wednesday to Easter. We have good days and bad days. There is a certain amount of grief and loss. Some of the freedoms that we love, we miss. Jessi and I were just talking about this. We are in this posture of: What is God trying to teach us in this? I’m not one who says there’s a lesson in everything or who tries to over-spiritualize things. However, there are a lot of things that God is teaching us in this. He is teaching us the preciousness of being able to meet together as the church, in a physical sense. Our Good Friday service will be located in the Sanctuary which you can get to by walking in the Main Doors and continuing straight through the lobby.

Our main campus is located at 2223 N. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL on the Southeast corner of Spring Creek and Mulford.
Join us for our Good Friday service March 30th at 7:00 pm. We will have a time of Worship, Reflection, and Communion. Childcare is available for children up to age 5.

10:30 a.m. Contemporary Service and First Free Kids
Cafe Venue will join the Contemporary service in the Sanctuary for a combined Easter celebration.
