English as a Second Language Classes are held on Saturdays from 9-11:00 AM at First Free Rockford. Call 815-877-7046 for more information.
Volunteers needed! You do not need to speak a second language to help with our ESL ministry. English conversation partners are always needed! Please call the church for more info.
Class Information
Schedule:
- 9:00 – 10:10 AM (Classroom Instruction)
- 10:15 – 10:25 AM (Bible Topic)
- 10:25 – 11:00 AM (Conversation Time)

We meet in the lower level of First Free Rockford. Enter through the East entrance and head downstairs to Room 145. Download the Campus Map.
Cost:
A $40 donation is encouraged to help cover material costs, but is not required.
Who is this for?
ESL classes serve all levels of English competency, from beginners to those who want to sharpen their grammar and conversational skills. At least 28 countries have been represented since the class’s beginning.
How it Works:
The first 45 to 60 minutes are instruction in English, followed by 15 to 20 minutes for a Bible story. The rest of the time is friendly conversation, with students grouped by ability.
