counseling & Care
Caring Ministries
Our Caring Ministries team is here to walk with you as you celebrate the momentous occasions, struggle through challenges or grieve losses. No matter what you and your family are facing, we are here for you.
GriefShare
Next session begins February 10 and runs through May 5. Workbooks cost $20.
GriefShare is a friendly, loving and caring support group of people who will walk alongside you through the grieving process. We offer GriefShare in two 13-week sessions each year, beginning in February and September for two hours on Tuesday mornings. Through video teaching and discussion groups, you will learn valuable principles about grief, to help you walk from mourning into joy.
Counselors
The Associate Pastor of Family Ministries is available for counseling by appointment, along with another in-house counselor. We also offer recommendations to other Christian counselors in our community. Please call the Church Office for more information or click here to download a list of local counselors recommended by First Free Rockford.
Hospital Visits
If you or a loved one has been admitted to the hospital and would like to receive a visit from our Caring Ministries team, please notify the Church Office as soon as possible. Without personal updates from family members, we have no way of knowing who is in the hospital, who has been transferred to a rehabilitation center, discharged, etc. Thank you for helping us minister to those in need!
Benevolent Fund
The people of First Free Rockford give graciously to a Benevolent Fund established to assist people who experience an adverse situation that results in an unmet financial need that creates a ‘burden’ in their lives. If you are such a person or know of such a person, please contact the Church Office and inform us of the need. The Benevolent Team is readily available to consider your request. Everything will be kept confidential.
Funerals
Caring Ministries is available to assist you in guiding and coordinating the various aspects of the Memorial Service for your loved one. We work in cooperation with several other First Free ministries, seeking to serve you in this time of sorrow and loss. Please call the Church Office and ask for Sasha to begin the process.
