Caring Ministries

As you walk through life there will inevitably be times when you need care.  Our Caring Ministries department is here to help you walk through life as you celebrate the momentous occasions, struggle through challenges, and grieve losses.  No matter what stage you are in our team is here for you.

Support Services

Christian Counseling

The Caring Ministries Pastor is available for counseling by appointment, along with another in-house counselor. Additional referrals to outside Christian counselors are made as requested.

Grief Share

GriefShare is a friendly, loving and caring support group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a ministry of Christian Care Giving where trained lay people come alongside people who are experiencing a crisis in their lives by lending a listening ear, offering encouragement, prayer and support.

Caring Ministries is available to assist you in guiding and coordinating the various aspects of the Memorial Service for your loved one in cooperation with other ministries of the church. We will work alongside you seeking to make this time of sorrow and loss as easy for you as possible. Allow us the privilege to serve you.

Hospital Visits

Pastoral and Ministry staff visit patients in the Rockford area hospitals. On occasion we have not been informed of your hospitalization from the hospital. To insure a visit from church, you need to contact our Caring Ministries office when you are hospitalized, or transferred into a rehabilitation facility, or into a nursing home.

Men’s Visitation Team
Each month, our team of three men faithfully visit shut-in men who live in their own homes or at a nursing home. They bring encouragement, Scripture, and prayer to our shut-ins who are unable to participate with our church body.

The Deaconess visits the women from our church who are in the hospital. They also visit shut-in women who live in their homes, or at a nursing home or at a rehabilitation center.

Getting Married?

Our wedding coordinators are here to help ensure that everything is perfect for the big day! If you’re planning your wedding and want to host it at First Free Rockford, please contact us to schedule an appointment.
