Baptism Sunday
If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please consider taking the next step and proclaiming your faith and trust in Christ through baptism. Baptism takes place several times a year during our Sunday morning worship services.
Our next Baptism Sunday will be on July 26 during our 10 a.m. combined service. Please register below and plan to attend our required informational class at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 12 in the Chapel.

What are First Free Rockford's beliefs about baptism?
We believe that a person is saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone. When participating in baptism by faith, one’s faith is strengthened, but baptism itself is not the source of salvation.
We believe baptism is one of two ordinances that Jesus gave us — the other being the Lord’s Supper, or Communion. These strengthen our faith and help distinguish us as people who belong to the global Body of Christ.
Baptism is open to anyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. You do not need to be a member of First Free Rockford to be baptized here.
How do I sign up to be baptized?

What else is required for me to be baptized?
You must attend a one-hour baptism class. This class is typically held on a Sunday morning a few weeks before the Baptism service and is led by our pastors. When we receive your registration, we will let you know the date and time of the next class.
Can I invite family and friends?
Of course! This will be a wonderful day so please invite your loved ones to join you for this special service.
Does First Free Rockford baptize infants?
We practice believer’s baptism, as opposed to infant baptism. We do offer parent-child dedications as a time of prayerful commitment for parents and families. Learn more about this special program on our Kids page.
