MAXlife Activities Recap

  • This year Sharefest was from June 18-26 at West Middle School and Cherrry Valley Elementary. Approximately 200 people signed up at First Free and received their Sharefest shirts with the MAXlife logo. Special thanks to Pastor Chuck and Craig Dey (from Heartland) who made this possible. We love our MAXlife/Sharefest shirts! Groups from First Free worked at West on Tuesday morning and again on Thursday night. Several Tuesday morning workers then had lunch at Stockholm Inn. This group included all our pastoral staff. Thanks to everyone who participated in this community project.

  • Linda Watts wrote the following about Angel Tree:

Served 13 families, 30 children, 60 gifts. Each child received a clothing and a fun gift. Beautifully supportive volunteers and contributors for the program. No coaxing needed to get help! Thank you!! All gift cards were taken quickly from the tree and all gifts turned in on time. The Saturday evening service family was very involved and enthusiastic for the project. Kudos to Sasha who directed us all so beautifully. It was a joy also to be able to provide complimentary tickets to A Christmas Carol for those families who were interested. Someone might be interested in becoming a co-chairman next year. Thank you to Marlowe who recorded part of the happenings with pictures. And coverage in the Rockford Register Star this year.
  • Laughter, sundaes, competition, friends---that's what you missed if you were not at Culver's on Monday night, September 21. Jann and Lynn Erickson planned a delightful evening of Hand and Foot, Rummikub, Train Dominoes, and Catch Phrase. Next time, be there!

  • 50 people (from First Free and friends) enjoyed "The Witnesses", a drama-musical production at The Fireside in Fort Atkinson, WI on Friday, July 31. This was the second in the trilogy,  following "The Rock and the Rabbi" that was in the summer of 2008. The third part of this trilogy will be coming in 2011 and is, as yet, un-named.

In 2010, The Fireside will be doing "The Child" during the Christmas season. Preparations are already underway for "The Child" to become a part of the MAXlife schedule for 2010.
